Robonauts

In a recent article in MIT Technology Review Magazine I read about man like robots to space - Robonauts. The robot has four fingers and a thumb, a head, body and almost like a man. The plan is to create them by NASA and send them to space in case of repair. Interestingly the robot works the way human works - for the step by step controller's (human being) in earth, the robot repeats in space.

This project got kicked off after the recent space shuttle - Columbia - disaster. Although planned to be in action only after 3 years, the project is very important for human kind.

After all, human life is more precious!

Photo Logs or Phlogs

After started writing blogs, I suddenly thought why not I put pictures that tell a story and put it under the tile "Flogs" (for Foto Logs) or "Plogs" (for Photo Logs) but interestingly my brother sent me a link called Phlogs.net. They talk about the same - putting your own pictures as a log.

Although the site was good, the picture quality was not good - well I am talking about the resolution of the pictures and not the other way ;-)

Good thought though!

Disappointing Toy Museum

I was amazed to hear that there is a Toy Museum that has over 45000 toys - world's largest - near Natural Bridge in Virginia. Curious to see the collection, I bought the expensive ticket. With lot of expectations and curiosity I enter to see a pretty small place that has lego and Leo toys. Of course not to totally disappoint, there were two toys - the oldest one from Mexico and the tiniest one again from Mexico.

The store attached to it was older still. When I asked for a Ruby's cube, he brought the children version of the same (2x2 squares on each side). Adding to it, he said it requires more skill to solve it than the usual 3x3 one.

I was confused to hear this. My little knowledge in Mathematics says the more squares the more combinations and the more challenge. Although it could be a marketing technique, he thought I am real dumb!

Big disappointment!

Natural Wonder - Natural Bridge

Had a chance to visit the Natural Bridge in Virginia. This is a bridge that got formed 100 million years ago between two mounts like a bridge naturally. One of the seven Natural Wonders of the Modern World (that is what they say), this is at an amazing height of around 200 feet.

Its Nature; A wonder - really!
