Productivity Improvement Tools
Found two tools recently that improves my productivity at work and home – Google Desktop and Evernote.
Google’s tool is very very useful that serves multiple purposes. With several panels available for addition, I can save my time to get to know the dates or Calendar and Weather.
- The simple version of ‘To Do’ though not robust, serves the purpose.
- ‘Quick View’ is a real help to find out recent history of websites visited and documents viewed.
- ‘TimeWarp’ clock is really cool but I would wait for a digital version of the same.
- ‘Calendar’ allows to check the calendar for several months/years. With this, I don’t have to double click the calendar from the task area and use the less intuitive Windows Calendar. Also I can disable my clock completely and save some space in task bar.
- ‘Scatch Pad’ offers a quick way to enter your notes.
- ‘Weather’ is customizable with a very few entries.
Best of all is the the powerful search feature: Search begins the moment you start entering the text and spits out a list of documents and websites. With this, I don’t have to launch a document from explorer or File > Open and search for a document. Very very useful and my favorite.
I read today about the product Evernote in Time Magazine and thought of trying. So far I have been happy with TurboNote but after seeing this free version of the product, I am going to switch over to this completely for the several features this offers. Drag & Drop any content, searchable notes, easy navigation are some of the highlights of this product. Am sure would help improve my productivity.
