Sin City - as it is called - Las Vegas is a must-see for any visitor to US. I do not know why it is referred so - though anyone could guess :-) In Las Vegas gambling is there everywhere - you can find the signs right in the airport itself. Slot machines with colorful lights and winners, losers and the sound of the coins dropping - you get a sample for the mega stuff in the strip. (any idea why it is called 'strip'?) Each Casino is on its own for the unique architecture - Venetian, Roman, Egyptian, French and what not - there is New York City, there is a replica of Eiffel Tower and Pyramid and Sphinx. So what I could find was that this place is more than Casinos - there is lot to do - to hang out, to appreciate, to enjoy and to relax. Once you are done appreciating all the architecture and stunned, it does not get over. There are shows almost in each Casinos - free and paid - not ordinary ones rather very grand. Cirque du Soleil has variety of shows - its original show, Zumanity & 'O' - then there is Blue Man Show, Rick Thomas and many more - remember these shows get booked much ahead and advanced booking might be essential if you are planning to watch. Another interesting thing I could find was people gambling anytime and all the time. You come out of the hotel to visit some other Casino and you see people gambling and I come back late evening after a long and tiring day and I still see people gambling - wow! However my luck was not much - for whatever money I spent in slot machines, there was money dropping in next machine - poor me! You have more things to see in Vegas - there is Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum - one of the five in the world, there is Guinness World Record Museum, Gambling Museum, and many more to see. It is really amazing to see how they built such a great city right In the middle of a desert! Had Hoover dam not there, power and water would have Great place to visit - to drink, gamble and flirt! |
