This is the view of the Raja Gopuram from the apartment where my parents live. Its indeed a pleasure to see the tower everyday and appreciate its construction. Some serious religious folks believe in the words "Gopura Dharisanam Kodi Punniyam" meaning you attain a crore good deeds by viewing the tower. For such folks that live nearby, it like a free ticket to heaven. At nights its a wonder to see the tower lit beautifully. Unfortunately the time I went was off-season and lights were not on and could not capture the view. |
